From January to December 2023, a quasi-experimental intervention study was conducted to assess the impact of an educational program in patients with risk factors for cerebrovascular disease. The main risk factor found was hypertension with 30 patients, followed by diabetes mellitus, for 85.7% and 51.4% respectively. In the study 27 patients presented inadequate knowledge about the types of stroke and after applying the Educational Program the figures decreased where only 6 patients reflected inadequate knowledge. After applying the program, 88.6% presented adequate knowledge about risk factors. A change in the lifestyle of the patients was observed, at the end of the intervention 45.7% and 71.4% presented a better control of Diabetes Mellitus and Arterial Hypertension respectively.
