Why Did You Change Me?Why did you transform me into one who stands at the peak of love one day, and at the summit of meditation the next?As I keep asking this question-again and again-only to be met with silence, I wonder if I have been born, died, and born again through countless lifetimes with the sole purpose of understanding and transforming the meaning of human existence.Though ages may pass in experience, no one has ever truly reached the shore of the illusion called love. Nor has anyone completely conquered the boundless expanse of enlightenment.Yet what does it matter?A soul that has neither loved nor meditated seems destined to wander endlessly between birth and death.Like a helpless little bird trapped in the beak of a mighty vulture called life, this innocent woman struggles-torn between love and meditation.Before my breath leaves this body, I choose to share that struggle with you.This collection of poems is woven from the single, unanswered question with which I rebuke my own soul:"Why did you change me?"With these verses, I garland every soul that chooses to read them, and I bow before each one in reverence.
