Dry Season: A Survival Story: 2

Months after the flood, Del figures her town has already had its disaster. The river's down to a trickle, the reservoir's low, and the whole valley is baking under a burn ban. Then a power line nobody ever checked throws a spark on the ridge. By nightfall a wildfire is roaring down the mountain toward a town with no water left to fight it - and in the scramble to get out, Del and her stepbrother end up stuck with the last kid on earth they'd choose: Riley Vance, the high-side girl who called their family trash. When the only road out closes behind them, the three of them have to turn back into the fire to reach the one man who saw all of this coming. Dry Season is a heart-pounding survival story about the family you don't get to choose, the cost of being the one who sees the truth, and a girl who's done letting a wrong thing lie. Tense but hopeful. Safe for younger readers. Book Two of the Hold Fast series.
