For nearly four hundred years, Devon Albertson has served the Order, protected the balance, and ignored instructions whenever they conflicted with his better judgment. The first two have gone reasonably well. Then Devon decides Lucifer has been getting away with too much for far too long. What follows is considerably more complicated than he intended. Hell is old, organized, vicious, political, and populated by people who have had centuries to perfect their grudges. The Order has its own opinion about Devon's actions, Lucifer has never been known for letting an insult pass unanswered, and neither side is particularly interested in hearing his explanation. Devon is accustomed to being told he has gone too far. This time, they may have a point.
