Dome: Episode One

Dome would like you to enjoy the view. On March 20, 2087, the world's first privately owned city gathers under its glass to watch the last sunset for six months, and management has arranged a flawless evening. The last plane of the season has landed. The heating holds. One passenger walked off that plane carrying a mandate nobody in the towers invited. The city's best fixer left a morning meeting carrying a decision nobody assigned him. A journalist is riding the outer line with a bag in her lap, and she has stopped answering her phone. Management remains confident. The sun dies at 8:52 PM, on schedule. Everything after it runs on nobody's schedule at all. The city seals itself in darkness. So do the people inside it.
