Vanwege mega-fusie-major-beslommeringen (Island/Supreme) kwam de plaat niet in 1998 uit zoals de bedoeling was, maar pas in 2001 op het veel sympathiekere Sub Pop. De band van Mark Kozelek stond bekend als the saddest band in the world.
