Disaster of A Town: Play in Two Acts

A Disaster of a Town is a two-act romantic murder mystery by Todd M. Clayton Jr., inspired by an original story he first wrote as a high school sophomore in 1991. Set in a fictional waterfront town inspired by Edmonds, Washington, the play follows Daylene, an openly sapphic café worker, and her girlfriend Amanda, a dedicated police officer. When a decades-old murder and the disappearance of a local journalist begin to unravel, the couple is drawn into an investigation that exposes corruption, hidden loyalties, and secrets that have haunted the town for years. Combining suspense, romance, humour, and emotional drama, A Disaster of a Town is ultimately a story about choosing truth over fear and love over prejudice. As the mystery unfolds, Daylene and Amanda discover that confronting the past is the only way to build a better future. Filled with memorable characters, heartfelt relationships, and a hopeful ending, A Disaster of a Town is a celebration of resilience, justice, community, and the enduring power of love.
