Digital evolution is an autonomous process driven by simple, distributed logic. It transformed single-celled prokaryotes into multicellular eukaryotes and unreliable computer links into self-regulating networks through mechanisms such as Forward Error Correction (Tanenbaum & Wetherall, 2011). This book argues that human language emerged through the same evolutionary principle. Rather than requiring a uniquely human "language brain" or Language Acquisition Device, language developed from the mammalian vocal-sign reflex system through learning and cognitive operations. The extraordinary complexity of modern language is therefore understood as the outcome of digital linguistic evolution. The first stage of this evolution enabled the unlimited generation of words and grammatical modulation, creating the foundation for the expressive power of human communication. Integrating linguistics, evolutionary science, information theory, and digital systems, this work presents a new interdisciplinary framework for exploring the origin of language and its future evolution in the digital age.
