This collective work conceives of education as a space for human development, critical reflection, and social transformation. Drawing on the dialogue between educational psychology and the philosophy of education, it examines issues such as meritocracy, equality, ethics, authority, work, emancipation, and education in Mozambique. The chapters in this volume demonstrate that education is not merely about transmitting knowledge, but about welcoming students with respect for their differences, their circumstances, and their dignity, thereby shaping individuals capable of thinking, learning, acting, living together, and participating responsibly in the construction of a more just and democratic society.
