Librarianship is a gentle and dignified profession, equally venerated as a university professorship or a director in government and a lecturer or a teacher at junior level. Library education is also gaining popularity. As a professional, a Librarian has to interact with many public, the government, teachers, students, readers, booksellers and publishers etc. As such he/she has to play the role of an academician, and administrator and a manager. Proficiency in Librarianship requires proper education and training. Training enhances the skills as well as facilitates the smooth everyday functioning. After entering the profession of Librarianship, on the job training, attending advance courses, seminars, workshops, refresher courses is prerequisite to be a fully equipped professional.
