Deception of the Gods

"There's a saying: 'How do you know when a spy is lying? His lips are moving. . .'" Spring, 1944. Squadron Leader Michael Simpson (codename Thor) is just shy of his twenty-fifth birthday when an air mission in occupied France ends with a glimpse of Yvette Delacroix-a ravishing woman who blows him a kiss after machine-gunning a handful of Nazis on a country road. Equally at ease in a slitted ballgown or a Women's Auxiliary Air Force uniform, Delacroix (codename Loki) is an agent of intrigue, and Simpson is determined to get to the bottom of her story. Moving between the grimiest and most glamorous corners of France, England, Switzerland, and beyond, Deception of the Gods is the first in an expertly researched spy trilogy based on real unsolved mysteries from the Second World War. Lavish brothels, Nazi secrets, and aerial warfare make a compelling backdrop for the greatest power couple M16 has ever seen. But can two intelligence agents ever really trust each other?
