David and the Giant of Fear is a beautifully illustrated Bible story about a young shepherd boy whose faith becomes stronger than the fear surrounding him. For forty days, the giant Goliath terrifies the Israelite army, but when David arrives at the camp carrying food for his brothers, he refuses to believe that the giant is greater than the living God. Although his brother doubts him and King Saul believes he is too young, David remembers how God helped him protect his sheep from lions and bears. Rejecting Saul's heavy armor, David chooses five smooth stones and his familiar sling, then bravely runs toward Goliath while declaring that he comes in the name of the Lord. The story teaches children that true courage does not come from size, strength, or weapons, but from trusting God when fear feels like a giant.
