'The Acknowledgement in Private Insurance Law. A Study on Settlement Declarations of the Insurer': The thesis deals with the insurer's declarations to pay insurance benefits. In addition to the acknowledgements specifically regulated in occupational disability and accident insurance (§§ 173, 187 VVG), the meaning of the insurer's declarations in other types of insurance is examined. On this basis, approaches to the legal nature of the acknowledgements regulated in the VVG are formulated and guidelines for the interpretation of typical settlement declarations in other types of insurance are developed.
