Crossmopollinate Handbook for Urban Transformation

This book originated from the Glossary Workshops conducted by Crossmopollinate Research Lab during the DAAD Placemaking and Urban Transformation excursion in Heidelberg in July 2023. The workshops aimed to create a rhizomatic glossary of trans-regional urban phenomena, - together with students from Delhi, Kathmandu, and Heidelberg, bringing together the disciplines of Transcultural Studies, Art History, Fine Art, Architecture, Urban Planning, Anthropology, and Geography. This ultimately encouraged us to view cities as interconnected nodes within global and local networks and urban phenomena. It explores urban transformation across multiple cities: Heidelberg, Delhi, Mumbai, Seoul, Kathmandu, Karachi, Kirtipur, Bhaktapur, and Atlanta. These cities serve as points through which we visually map urban conceptual networks.
