His name was Dumass. Dumass was born on July 11, 27,000 BCE in the Late Paleolithic period. He was a Homo-Sapien and lived a quiet life in the Commune of Les Eyzies, France. Originally from Bordeaux, he moved to Les Eyzies when he was sixteen, accompanied by his very unhappy wife, Tallerant. There, he lived to the ripe old age of twenty-seven. During life, Dumass was a heavily built, 5' 7", 205-pound cave-dweller. His forehead was rather straight, and he had small ridges above his eyes. His head was long and narrow, his face long and wide, and his brain was bigger than most, though he didn't use it much. He had dark skin, dark eyes, and black hair and took very good care of his three remaining teeth. Although this story is about Dumass, it's also about friendship, meeting new people, and understanding different lives and values. I would like to take you on a journey of discovery and enlightenment as we follow Dumass through one week of life with his new friend, the vampire. We all need to learn how to makes friends with people who are different from us. We need to learn how to be accepting like a Dumass!
