Bol This paper intends to study and examine the reception of Clarice Lispector's work by critics in Italy and to make, therefore, a comparison with the paths followed by Brazilian critics. The paper consists of a first chapter, "Notes for a Portrait," in which, as the title itself suggests, an attempt is made to succinctly represent and describe the figure of Clarice Lispector, both as a woman and as a writer. In the second chapter, "Clarice Lispector and Brazilian Criticism," an attempt was made to describe the main paths taken by Brazilian literary criticism in relation to Lispector's work. In the third and final chapter, "Clarice Lispector and Italian Criticism," an attempt was made to describe the production of Italian literary criticism carried out so far on the work of the Brazilian writer. The hope, then, is that the literary work of Clarice Lispector will succeed in obtaining, even in Italy, the full recognition that has long been accorded to her in the international literary scene.
