Crepuscular Harbor: Poetry 1973 - 1974

CREPUSCULAR HARBOR is the English translation from Portuguese of forty nine poems by Luis Alberto Guerreiro written immediately prior to the Carnations Revolution in 1974. His poetry of this period is modern, abstract, and experimental, addressing emotions and experiences associated with saudade (longing), love, political resistance, social critique, loneliness, anxiety, and separation, as well as exuberant and extreme attitudes typical of the adolescence. Some of the poems are deeply existential and question our place and role in the Universe. Even though Luis Alberto Guerreiro was only eighteen at the time, and only fifteen years later would he obtain a doctorate in psychology, these forty nine poems reflect a profound intuitive understanding of Human Psychology and interpersonal relationships. Humor, satire, and a sarcastic tone throughout the book add a pleasant entertaining value the reader will appreciate.
