Community Perspective on Municipal Service Delivery

This study examined the provision of basic municipal services to Martha Farm and established how the community of this rural area perceives service delivery by the Dannhauser Local Municipality regarding the basic services such as electricity, sanitation, refuse collection as well as water in order to bridge any service quality gaps that exist. The study further explored how the lack of / poor service delivery would negatively impact Martha Farm community in continuation with their daily lives. The study focused on the various services that Dannhauser Local Municipality provides to this rural community and how the municipality promotes community participation to improve development in this community. The participants of this study were randomly selected from the community of Martha Farm, and local community leaders. This study was restricted to Martha Farm community of Dannhauser Local Municipality. The data were collected in November 2023 and results presented by the study are representatives of that moment in time.
