Colonel Fitzwilliam's Dilemma

Lady Catherine de Bourgh invites herself to Pemberley, determined to bring about an engagement between her daughter Anne and Colonel Fitzwilliam. But, thanks to the influence of her new tutor, the charismatic Mr. Asquith, Anne is no longer the obedient, mousy creature she once was and has ideas of her own about her future. When Joshua Fitzwilliam meets Celia Sheffield, widowed a year previously, he is captivated. Mrs. Sheffield's fortune is being contested by someone from her past in Jamaica, from whence Mr. Asquith also hails. What is the connection between him and the woman Joshua has become fixated upon? Lizzy Darcy, struggling to remain on congenial terms with Lady Catherine, is at her wits end when Mr. Collins unexpectedly arrives, bringing with him disquieting rumours regarding Mr. Asquith's character. Will Anne find the courage to defy her mother, risk being disinherited, and follow her heart? And can Joshua save Celia from the debauched individual who wants more from her than mere monetary rewards…

Lady Catherine de Bourgh requires the Darcys help to persuade Colonel Fitzwilliam to marry her daughter. But Anne de Bourgh has other ideas. So too does the colonel.
