Alice the older of two Baristas is in her early 40s. She has had a messy divorce and is raising a teenage daughter on her own. The younger Barista, Katie is mid-20s, mousy and a little shy but there is an underlying beauty that's been stifled. Working in a run-down but popular Café, the pair struggle with worn out equipment and a misogynistic, over-bearing owner. Their skills with coffee keep the customers coming.
