Citizen movements in the DRC: committed and inspired youth

At the beginning of 2015, Congolese citizens' movements gave impetus to a citizen's dynamism aimed at defending fundamental rights and ensuring respect for the constitution. Through peaceful and non-violent means, these young people led an intense and muscular struggle for the respect of the Constitution and against the illegal 3rd term of office of former President Joseph KABILA, after his second and last constitutional term. In a context where democracy is fragile, human rights violations are at their peak, and the individual positions taken by politicians must defend their political interests, the people must wake up and shape their destiny. Just like the struggle to win our country's independence in 1960, which was not a gift from heaven, but a struggle of sacrifice with a price to pay. Faced with their destiny, Congolese youth have risen to their feet to bring about change in their country.
