Bol Q: What's a chivo?A: It's a concert, not a goat. Folks across a variety of music scenes in Costa Rica use the word "chivo" when referring to concerts. It's sometimes connotated as for smaller, more community-oriented concerts, but can be used for big ones, too. Q: Why's it called a chivo?A: Depends who you ask. Occasionally, you'll come across lore about inherited traditions of slaughtering a goat at parties. Most folks say they don't know.Q: When's the next chivo?A: Soon. We'll hit you up when there's a flyer. *Jacob Griffin Hall's Chivo is the Winner of the 2025 NMP/DIAGRAM Chapbook Contest.
