Bol The use of electromagnetic waves is rapidly increasing in wireless communications and biomedical engineering, highlighting the need to study their interactions with human tissues. Previous studies, however, have not reached a consensus on how different electromagnetic frequencies affect biological tissue layers at both the cellular and thermal levels. This study aims to analyze near-field electromagnetic absorption in layered biological tissues, with a focus on the thyroid gland, which is highly exposed due to its anterior location in the neck. A one-dimensional multilayer tissue model representing the thyroid region was developed, incorporating accurate dielectric properties, including permittivity, conductivity, and density, based on data from the Italian National Research Council.
