Cattle Raising in Naturally Semi-Flooded Pastures

In search of water, open spaces, and forage species to carry out their activities, cattle ranchers are increasingly settling in wetlands, marshes, and forested areas. These wetlands abound with natural semi-flooded pastures containing lesser-known forage species, and many studies are currently underway. In the Republic of the Congo, the majority of semi-flooded pastures are located in the northern part of the country. Cattle herds continue to grow in these areas. Unfortunately, the animals' growth, reproductive, and production performance remains very low. To support livestock producers operating in these semi-flooded pastures, trainers, researchers, and other animal production specialists have a duty to provide guidance on reproductive techniques, feeding management, and health management, taking into account the challenging environment. This book therefore takes a scientific approach to facilitate teaching and research in the field of cattle production at agricultural middle schools, high schools, and universities.
