There is no right way to grieve. I want to say that first, because so much of what we're told about grief comes with rules - stages to move through, timelines to meet, a version of "moving on" that never quite fits the shape of what we've lost. This book isn't a guide to getting over anything. It's a place to breathe while you carry what you're carrying.I wrote these meditations because I needed them. Grief doesn't ask permission to show up - it arrives in the grocery store, in a song, in the quiet of 3 a.m. What I've learned, slowly and imperfectly, is that stillness doesn't erase the pain. But it gives you somewhere to set it down for a few minutes at a time. You can use this book in any order. Start where your grief is right now - in the shock of early loss, in the ache of an anniversary, in the strange work of learning to carry someone's memory instead of their presence. Some meditations are long. Some take two minutes, for the moments when two minutes is all you have. There is no finish line here. Just breath, and the next breath after that.
