Career and employment prospects

The study examines the "Job Editorial Team" project run by Beschäftigungs- und Qualifizierungsgesellschaft Flensburg mbH (bequa) from a vocational education perspective. The focus is on the professional integration of long-term unemployed people over the age of 25 in the Flensburg area. It addresses (re)integration into the employment system through the construct of the profession, which is associated with the hope of sustainability. Therefore, in addition to interpreting empirical data on the project in Flensburg, the authors consider it important to highlight the personality-building and identity-forming potential of vocational training and work. Against the backdrop of the real situations on the training and employment market in Flensburg, theoretical approaches to access and demand for vocational training and employment opportunities are explained. This creates a plea for the future viability of vocational training. Finally, vocational training is also seen as a sustainable solution to the current problems of integrating refugees.
