A Better Building Story celebrates the people working to design, construct, and maintain buildings and highlights how buildings can reduce waste, conserve energy and water, and protect us and our planet. Through rhyme and colorful illustrations, the friendly Buildy Green tells why and how he was built with extra care. Buildy's team of building and materials professionals introduce their careers and explain sustainable building practices such as deconstruction, life cycle assessment, green roofs, net zero, smart systems, retrofit, and more. Heartwarming, simple language and interactive activities throughout encourage dialogue and critical thinking at home or in the classroom. Buildy Green, It Takes a Team! A Better Building Story is a publication of the Carbon Zero Youth Initiative, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educational outreach towards a sustainable built environment.
