This includes the assembly of building envelopes—large-format continuous surface elements—from individual components, taking into account different variants of flat and curved geometry and basic constructional design. From this perspective, the subject of 'building construction' is dealt with by architect José Luis Moro in four comprehensive volumes. They are each dedicated to the methodological, physical, and functional principles, the conception of a constructional basic solution, and finally its implementation in the constructional detail. Not only is a wide range of content covered, but the greatest possible clarity is also ensured in order to make it easier for students to access the subject matter. An important focus of the work lies not only on conveying technical and scientific factual information, but also on demonstrating complex relationships and interactions between design, material, and construction. He is a member of both faculties, Architecture and Civil Engineering. His research activities focus on the building envelope and design-relevant interactions between construction and architectural form. Professor Moro has had his own architectural practice since 1990.
