Bol Broken Dreams isn't just a book about basketball, It tells the stories of young talented players blessed by the basketball gods with immense gifts whose missteps and poor choices derailed what could have been a long, lucrative and accomplished NBA career. The book provides portraits of the players hopes and aspirations, their home lives, and the difficulties they face in living - namely, the temptations of drugs and alcohol. They had gone through a downward spiral brought on by drugs, alcohol and self-doubt. Their stories, and the double-edged sword of hoop dreams, is at the heart of these compelling stories about young talented players struggle to find their way in an often grim world. Fred Roggen is a independent basketball journalist/publicist. His sport writing has been featured at Eurobasket.com, the Spanish site Basketme.com, the Dutch sites Basketballplus.nl, and Ibaskeball.nl. He is the author of the Dutch basketball book 'Vervlogen Tijden'.
