Broken: Designing Careers In A Flawed and Outdated System

You followed the plan. You worked hard, checked the boxes, and built a career you were proud of-on paper. So why does it still feel... off?In Broken, Margaret Weniger challenges the career playbook so many high-achieving women were taught to follow-one that promised fulfillment through titles, promotions, and external validation, but often delivers burnout, confusion, and a quiet sense of misalignment. Through her work with founders and in-depth research with over 100 women navigating modern careers, she uncovers the hidden assumptions that keep ambitious professionals stuck chasing a version of success that was never truly theirs. This is not another book about climbing the ladder. It's a guide to stepping off of it.With practical exercises and a new framework rooted in ownership, agency, and intentional design, Broken helps you rethink success, reconnect with what actually matters, and build a career that fits your life-not the other way around.
