Bol This book examines the importance of nursing care in breastfeeding and its contributions to the health of mother and baby. The study aimed to carry out a systematic review of the benefits of nursing care in breastfeeding. The method chosen was a systematic review, using databases: MEDLINE (Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online), BNDEF (Nursing Database) and LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature). The descriptors were chosen according to DeCS (Health Sciences Descriptors) and MeSH (Medical Subject Headings). In accordance with the descriptors, Boolean operators were used to combine the terms in the databases. Fourteen articles were included in this study. The results indicate that continuing education and emotional support are fundamental to successful breastfeeding, suggesting the need for more robust health policies that promote evidence-based practices. The paper concludes that nursing care not only facilitates the practice of breastfeeding, but also contributes significantly to maternal and child well-being.
