Beware of the Cult

Author Shawn Gillick of New Existentialism: A Philosophy for the 21st Century, Destroy Capitalism Before It Destroys Us!, Do Ask, Do Tell, Say Gay! and Work Equals Slavery: How the Modern Workplace is a Form of Slavery is back with a new book titled Beware of the Cult: How Cults Destroy Lives and How You Can Escape! Shawn attempts to offer a precise definition of what cults actually are and offers advice on how people can defect from and escape such groups. In a world filled with so much political and spiritual uncertainty, people are searching for meaning in their lives and often end up becoming involved with cults or "cult like" groups. Shawn believes that essentially any group can become a cult. People's devotion to work and each other often times gets them into trouble before it's too late. The book opens discussing some of the most famous American cults and then offers socio-psychological and philosophical analysis of what makes certain groups actual cults. Shawn then goes on to offer some possible solutions and advice for individuals who find themselves in a cult and how to safely escape before it's too late. Beware of the Cult provides a good introductory foundation for readers interested in the sociological phenomenon of group think and cults.
