Beneath her Smile: memoir; a journey from hidden scars to truth, forgiveness, and redemption

The world saw Yvonne, a strong woman making people laugh for a living - a nationally respected speaker and successful author. What they didn't see were the scars - both the visible one left on her face at age eight, and the invisible ones buried deep in her soul. This is the true story of a little girl growing up in an Italian-American family in the 1960s, carrying a secret she didn't fully understand until adulthood. It's a decades-long journey from trauma, shame, and silence to forgiveness, faith, and freedom. Through humor, resilience, and the healing strength of her faith, Yvonne learns that joy isn't the absence of pain - it's the presence of grace and forgiveness. Told with honesty, humor, and hope, Beneath Her Smile is for anyone who has carried pain they couldn't name, and everyone longing to believe healing is possible-no matter how many years have passed.
