Constantly having someone challenge who you are, and attempting to undermine your autonomy, that's being negated. But overcoming the opposition can be a great first step towards healing. Being Negated: An Anthology of Transgender Survival Stories is a collection of experiences from some of the different transgender neighbors within our community. This book is important to me because each of these characters carries a piece of my story as they tell their own. Stories of surviving against the odds, and resilience through dire circumstances; violence, abuse, misogyny, hostility, injuries, and illness. Stories of transgender and transsexual people overcoming the odds that were stacked so high against them.
