Babi the Butterfly

At the time of writing this narrative (2025), Ms. Sadie Girl was about fourteen years young. I could not believe she lived so much life! Babi (my mother) and I lived together with Sadie as I worked my way through my doctoral degree. Sadie lived so much life with me, and I am honored Babi was able to help me with her. Babi would walk Sadie every day and referred to her as "Say, Say." Sadie has been through many cherished moments and many losses with me, including the day that Babi unexpectedly passed away in March 2018. Sadie is so near and dear to my heart. It is beyond special to honor her in this work. Sadie would have hung out with me as long as her body would have allowed. She crossed the rainbow bridge on May 26, 2026, just shy of her fifteenth birthday. I thank her every single day for spending so many years seeing me through good and hard times, and for extending the unconditional love that kept me going countless times. Sadie, I love you, you little sassy girl! Thank you for watching over Samson and I, and for helping people move through their pain toward healing, as they read this story.
