Awkward Flyer

Book bind-up of the popular digital sketches from Instagram account @awkwardflyer, with a humorous graphic take on stereotypes known to everyone. Awkward Flyer has 680K followers on Instagram, and for good reason. The account is brilliantly funny and offers the perfect diversion in the all too serious world of social media. Awkward Flyer is ‘an intervention series confronting stereotypes with uncomfortable honesty’. No personality – or shall we say cliché – is safe from scrutiny: the cargo bike dad, the pilates princess, the digital nomad, the thrift store hipster. Even Leonardo DiCaprio, aka ‘the Peter Pan of Hollywood’, is given a good roast. This book bundles some of the best visual sketches from the Instagram account. Accompanied by the dry explanatory texts that also appear on the app, they will make you chuckle – and sometimes burst out in laughter – while leafing through the pages. Warning: some types may feel awkwardly familiar.

This isn't just a book. It's a collection of the people we all hate. Or love. Or even better: love to hate. Inside these pages you'll recognize your boss. Your neighbor. Your gym buddy. Your ex. The guy from LinkedIn. That woman from yoga. The Instagram couple. The life coach who thinks he's a therapist. And, eventually ... yourself. Some pages will make you laugh. Others, you'll want to send to one of your friends. One of them will make you close the book quietly and question how you ended up becoming 'one of those people'. Open at your own risk. And find the one that makes you think 'wait … this is me'. Awkward Flyer is a product by Musketon
