The collected samples were analyzed using standard analytical procedures for important physico-chemical parameters, including Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), turbidity, and total hardness. The analysis revealed considerable spatial variation in water quality, with pollution levels increasing progressively along the river. The findings demonstrate a strong relationship between industrial density and water quality degradation. The study highlights the urgent need for effective industrial effluent management and suggests that, after suitable treatment, water from less polluted stretches may be utilized for irrigation purposes.
