This study has two main objectives. The first is to conduct a spatial and temporal assessment of the physicochemical quality of surface waters in the Oued Moulouya using the water quality assessment system (SEQ-Eau), the Water Quality Index (IQE), the Pollution Index (IP), and the Organic Pollution Index (IPO). The second objective is to develop a system for classifying and predicting the various water quality indicators (SEQ-Eau, IQE, and IP) using artificial intelligence. In total, 66 samples were collected at 22 stations from the headwaters of the wadi in the Upper Moulouya to its mouth on the Mediterranean Sea during three sampling campaigns, namely March-April, May-June, and July-August 2014.The physicochemical parameters analyzed were water temperature (°C), hydrogen ion concentration (pH), electrical conductivity (EC), dissolved oxygen (dissolved O¿), biochemical oxygen demand after 5 days (BOD¿), phosphate (PO¿³¿), ammonium (NH¿¿), sulfates (SO¿²¿), and nitrates (NO¿¿).
