In light of the socioeconomic living conditions of certain grassroots village communities-specifically women and children-the NGO Action Sociale pour l'Eradication de la Pauvreté (ASEP) was established in the Republic of Benin on August 5, 2006, with the aim of improving the living conditions of local populations. It is a nonprofit nongovernmental organization governed by the law of July 1, 1901, and was officially recognized under number 2007/095/SG/STCCD on September 27, 2007. Its mission is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations to promote sustainable development in Benin and the subregion. ASEP's vision is to eradicate all forms of suffering and hardship experienced by vulnerable children, whether psychological, physical, or mental.
