Ariné: The Goddess Who Reaped

Chosen as the Winter Solstice sacrifice, Ariné kneels at the obsidian altar prepared to die for a god she has never feared, until her own name fails to appear in the God of Death's Ledger. When the execution blade shatters upon her skin and frost erupts across the city square, the divine truth becomes clear: she was never meant to die. Claimed as the vessel of the Death God, Ariné transforms into something immortal and terrifying - a judge of souls, a reaper of the wicked, and the first of a divine vampiric lineage. And as she carves justice through the corrupt city that condemned her, Lorian - the guard who loved her in secret - must choose whether to remain mortal... or become something inhuman enough to stay beside her forever.
