Apple Sour

Apple Sour by M.B. Green is a chilling work of transgressive fiction set against the deceptively serene beaches of Ventura, California-where sunshine and violence blur into something intoxicating.Vivian Lauve grows up surrounded by affluence, art, and the illusion of perfection. Her mother curates a coastal gallery; her father taught history at the local high school, and now spends his time surfing with his daughter. To outsiders, the Lauves are refined, cool, and untouchable. But behind their ocean-view windows, something sinister festers.Vivian's father believes murder is art-an act of beauty, precision, and purpose. And as he molds his daughter into his ideal successor, she begins to question if violence is learned, inherited, or inevitable. Apple Sour explores the dark psychology of inheritance, exploring the tension between nature and nurture, the lure of violence, and the quiet evil that hides beneath the California sun. A haunting blend of psychological thriller, literary horror, and dark coming-of-age, this novel will captivate readers of Ottessa Moshfegh, Catriona Ward, and Bret Easton Ellis.
