Husa Voss hires Anne because a psychic told him he would be killed after he wins a lottery. He gives Anne the lottergy numbers the psychic gave him. Anne thinks he's a little crazy, but when Anne hears the winning numbers announced on the intergalactic news, she calls her client only to discover he was just killed. It appears his lover poisoned him to death, or did she. Apparently, Voss's company has invented a technology called Foresight that can actually see the future. It's based on the Big Crunch theory, and it seems to make sense. But, how does that tie in with Voss's death? There's a whole lot more than meets the eye, and Anne has to appeal layers of corruption to uncover the truth.
