And God is their Peace

Debbie Davies has a knack for learning languages, but at the remote jungle mission where she was raised, this gifting only makes her the awkward, bookish daughter of the pastor in charge. One day, a man named Capac arrives from the village they have been trying to reach, but after a terrible mistranslation, Debbie's father imprisons him.Moved to compassion by the man's desperate pleas in a language she does not speak, Debbie seeks to understand Capac against her father's wishes. Debbie learns that Capac is on a rescue mission for his people, and has been for years. Further, Capac is not just a man-he is the village's king. Over time, Debbie forms a bond with Capac, teaching him the Bible, learning his language, and eventually receiving a coveted invitation to take the Truth to Capac's people. But when they arrive, she encounters unspeakable evil, and she must make a shocking choice that will tie her to the king forever. A knack for language and knowledge of Scripture may not be enough to cross cultural barriers and be a beacon for Capac's people in the face of deepening darkness-because there is only one language spoken by the heart.
