She recounts her first years of residence and how she connected to new family members. Essentially, it is her first disclosure of her birth name and the significance it held for her moving on in adult life. This story is the fourth book published in the collection "Ancestry in short stories" which explores the intergenerational impact of migration through biographical and anecdotal stories of the author's family members.
