Ambedkar and Buddhism

Ambedkar and Buddhism delves into the profound connection between Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a key figure in the Indian independence movement and the architect of the Indian Constitution, and Buddhism. This book explores Ambedkar's journey towards embracing Buddhism as a means of social and spiritual liberation for marginalized communities, particularly the Dalits (formerly known as untouchables). Through meticulous research and analysis, it examines Ambedkar's scholarly engagement with Buddhist philosophy, his advocacy for social justice and equality inspired by Buddhist principles, and his historic conversion to Buddhism along with millions of his followers. By contextualizing Ambedkar's contributions within the broader framework of Buddhist revivalism in India, this book offers insights into the intersection of religion, politics, and social reform in modern India.
