Agriculture and Sustainability: Sustainable agricultural practices in the school setting

By combining the terms "agriculture" and "sustainability," we create a topic that aims to explore sustainable agricultural practices within the school setting, such as the efficient use of resources, the reduction of environmental impacts, the promotion of quality of life for farmers and their communities, the production of truly healthy food, among other practices that take into account the need for a more conscious use of natural resources. This book represents a project conceived as part of the creation of the Myrthes Wenzel Technological Educational High School (GET), one of whose pillars is the concept of sustainability-defined as "responsibility for the coexistence of social, economic, and environmental aspects." Moving in this direction, we aim to examine agricultural practices over time in different contexts-from the Neolithic Revolution that gave rise to agriculture-while taking environmental concerns into account. In this context, we will focus on the need for sustainable agricultural practices that enable both the preservation of ecosystems and the quality of the food produced in our school's organic garden.
