Thirty years after the gods reduced Tokyo to rubble, survivors set out to answer a seemingly impossible question—how do you kill a god? Japan is under invasion by gods, leaving entire cities uninhabitable. Anti-God researcher Sachiyuki Tokinaga pursues a way to take down the gods and save humanity. A chance encounter brings him to high schooler Waka Kamikura, who may hold the key to changing the fate of the world. When Waka joins the Anti-God Research Institute, she is attacked by a massive snake god and abducted. She discovers that a god dwells inside her, a power she cannot control. Tokinaga grapples with guilt over lives lost in the attack, while his housemate Obikawa urges him to continue—even as the future of mankind hangs in the balance.

As the investigation advances, the stakes rise and loyalties are tested. The story follows researchers and a teenage girl as they confront ancient powers, perilous confrontations, and the question of whether humanity can outsmart a being that defies mortality.
