Abandoned Union- Deserted Catskills

In the Catskill Mountains, forgotten stagecoach routes and resort-era retreats linger as decayed rooms preserve family love and summer romances. Deep in the heart of the Catskill Mountains, a forgotten world hides in plain sight. Long before the resort era reached its zenith, the rhythm of these mountains was set by the steady clatter of wheels from a stagecoach traversing winding passes. For generations, the Catskills served as a peaceful sanctuary, evolving from inns to sprawling boarding houses and eventually extravagant resorts. It was where the city life fell away, replaced by the scent of pines, the crackle of evening fires, and echoes of laughter that once filled many dining rooms. Within the dust and the rot, there remains a flicker of love. These were places filled with family traditions, new friendships, and summer romances. The decay hasn't erased those memories; it has only cocooned them. This collection revisits these spaces one final time, allowing others to reminisce about how life existed before the mountains quietly reclaimed their domain.
