A Stone Sanctuary: Book Two

They survived the fall. Now comes the harder fight: resisting powerful enemies and the uncertainty of exile, where their survival and future together are threatened on all sides.War has shattered Asa and Aedelric's world. Their home is ash, their people scattered like leaves in a gale. Asa's heart still aches from watching her father fall under Harald Fairhair's blade. All they have left is each other and the cold, unforgiving shores of the Orkney Islands, where a handful of survivors from Njardarheimr land, uprooted, lost, and trembling before the unknown.Ahead of them stands an unfamiliar fort, its banners unknown. Behind them lies only ruin.Armed with a weathered map, a final letter, and a dying man's last words, secrets known only to Aedelric, they must navigate a fractured land where rival Christian kings and Pagan warlords threaten their survival. Every alliance is uncertain, and trusting the wrong side could cost them everything.Asa's anger masks a grief that gnaws at her, the memory of her father's final breath haunting her nights. Aedelric staggers under the weight of secrets that threaten to crush him. Every promise they make is a fragile lifeline, stretched thin by guilt and fear, as the world surges against them, merciless, unyielding, testing every part of who they are together.Their love is no gentle shelter; it is bruised and battered like the shores they walk, sparked by desperation, shielded by darkness, and forged in storms they barely survived. Every wound binds them, but every trial threatens to unravel what hope they still hold. In this burning land of faith and ambition, even their fiercest bond teeters on the edge of ruin. Will their trials forge unshakable love or finally break them?
