a Piano Secretly Loved Violin

Behind the polished façade of APD Black Widow stands a private empire that treats nations, banks, medicine and public opinion as instruments of control. Bastien Balzac, its brilliant and cynical lawyer, has spent lifetimes defending the indefensible. Then he falls in love with Florance Magique, a soprano whose faith in music and beauty begins to awaken the conscience he thought he had lost. When the Empire's advisers are brought before a tribunal accused of crimes against life on Earth, Bastien must choose between loyalty, survival and the one love that has made him human. As propaganda closes in and truth is remade for public consumption, a piano and a violin become fragile symbols of a beauty that may outlive humanity itself. A Piano Secretly Loved a Violin is a philosophical literary satire about power, greed, manipulation, moral responsibility and the redemptive force of love.
